Sourcing Small Artists: Why We Look to the World for What You Wear

Here's something we believe with our whole hearts: great design doesn't have a single zip code. It doesn't belong to one city, one country, or one corner of the world. It lives everywhere: in the hands of artisans working in small studios, in the minds of designers pulling from generations of tradition, and in communities where craft is passed down like a family recipe.
At Love Launch, sourcing is a philosophy—not a trend-driven exercise or a box to check. We currently source from six of the seven continents because we believe great design exists everywhere, and our role is to find it. (Antarctica, we love you, but the penguins haven't started a fashion line yet.)
This isn't about being trendy or checking boxes. It's about being honest with you: and honest with ourselves: about what it takes to truly find the best. Because you deserve more than whatever's convenient. You deserve pieces that were made with intention, creativity, and care.
Why We Look Beyond Our Backyard
The fashion industry often sources globally for one reason: cost. Brands chase the cheapest labor, the fastest turnaround, the biggest margins. That's not our story.
We look to the world because we genuinely believe that limiting ourselves to one region means limiting what we can offer you. Different regions offer distinct perspectives on design, fit, and style. Geography shapes how people move, what they need from their clothing, and how they express themselves. Climate, culture, history, and craft traditions all influence a garment. By sourcing globally, we expand not just our reach, but our understanding of what clothing can be.
A silhouette that feels fresh in Seoul might never occur to a designer in São Paulo: and vice versa. A textile technique perfected over centuries in Morocco carries a weight and beauty that can't be replicated anywhere else.
This approach allows us to be honest when we say we look for the best for our customers. Not the loudest trend or the most familiar name—but pieces that feel considered, intentional, and lasting. Each one comes from designers responding thoughtfully to their environment, materials, and community.
When we open our eyes to what's happening across continents, we're not just expanding our inventory. We're expanding our understanding of what clothing can be, what it can mean, and how it can make you feel.

Your Style Deserves a Global Search
Our Love Launch community includes many different kinds of people, but there is a shared thread: an eye for style cultivated over years and decades. You know what works for your body. You recognize when something feels right. You can sense when a piece has integrity. Many of you have spent years: sometimes decades: cultivating your personal style. That level of discernment deserves more than a narrow view of fashion.
By searching across continents, we uncover design ideas that feel genuinely new. Sometimes that shows up in unexpected proportions, distinctive color stories, or a different relationship to fabric and movement. Other times it’s quieter—a seam placement that changes how something drapes, or a production method that prioritizes longevity over speed.
We're not just looking for "more stuff." We're looking for pieces that will genuinely surprise and delight. We're hunting for that jacket that blows your mind, that scarf that somehow pulls together three outfits you already own, or that dress that makes you feel like the most yourself version of yourself.
This takes work. It takes relationships. It takes showing up in places: physically and digitally: where independent creators are doing remarkable things. But it's the only way we know how to do this honestly.
Six Continents, Countless Voices
So what does sourcing from six continents actually look like?
Europe brings us structured tailoring, refined fabrics, and a sense of timeless elegance that never feels stuffy. Think clean lines and attention to detail that whispers rather than shouts.
Asia offers an incredible range: from the architectural experimentation happening in Japanese fashion to the rich textile traditions of India and the innovative streetwear emerging from South Korea. The diversity here alone could fill a dozen shops.
Africa is home to bold prints, vibrant colors, and techniques that have been perfected over generations. There's an energy and joy in African design that we're honored to share with you.
South America gives us unexpected color combinations, luxurious natural fibers, and a warmth that feels both grounded and adventurous.
North America (yes, including right here at home) has its own incredible community of independent designers pushing boundaries and redefining what American fashion means.
Australia brings a relaxed sophistication and a connection to natural materials that feels refreshing in a world of synthetic everything.
Each region has its own voice. Its own history. Its own way of thinking about how clothes should fit a body, how fabric should move, how design should serve the person wearing it. By listening to all of these voices, we can offer you something truly curated: not just a random assortment, but a thoughtful collection that reflects the breadth of human creativity.

Transparency Matters
Here's the thing about global sourcing: it can be used to hide things. When a garment passes through four countries before reaching your closet, it's easy for brands to lose track of: or deliberately obscure: how and where things were made.
We're not that kind of company.
Transparency matters to us. That’s why we created our Sourcing page—to share not only what we carry, but how and why it arrives at Love Launch. Global sourcing isn’t about distance; it’s about connection. It’s about honoring the designers, makers, and traditions behind each piece, and inviting you into that story.
When we stay open to what’s happening around the world, we’re able to offer more of what truly makes you feel good: confident, grounded, and fully yourself. When you wear something thoughtfully sourced, you become part of a larger cycle—one of inspiration, craft, design, and love.
That is what sourcing means to us. And it’s what we remain committed to: looking outward, thinking deeply, and bringing back pieces worthy of you.
We've spent a lot of time creating our community of vendors so that we can serve our community of customers apparel and accessories we feel proud of, we feel beautiful in, and love.
We want you to know where your pieces come from. We want you to understand the journey they took to reach you. And we want to be accountable for the choices we make.
So we have [launched] our new Global + Local Sourcing page. So you can decide if you want to shop African brands, or look at European Design side by side with Australian to try to understand how they compare.
On our sourcing page, you'll find information about the regions we work with, the types of creators we partner with, and our approach to ethical production. We'll keep updating it as we learn more and do more. It's one small part of how we're trying to do this right.
This isn't about being perfect. We're a small boutique, and we're learning and growing just like everyone else. But we believe transparency is the foundation of trust: and trust is the foundation of any real relationship, including the one we're building with you.
Supporting Independent Creators
One thing we're especially proud of: the majority of what we carry comes from independent designers and small-scale creators. These aren't massive factories churning out thousands of identical pieces. These are artists, craftspeople, and visionaries who pour themselves into their work.
When you shop with us, you're not just buying clothes. You're participating in a cycle of inspiration, craft, design, and love. You're supporting someone's dream. You're voting with your dollars for a fashion industry that values creativity over conformity.

That feels important to us. We hope it feels important to you too.
A Community of Style
We think about our community a lot. You're teachers and artists and executives and parents. You're people who care about how you show up in the world. You're people who have opinions: strong ones: about what belongs in your closet and what doesn't.
Shopping globally makes it possible for us to truly serve that community. Instead of offering the same things everyone else has, we can bring you fresh ideas from around the world. We can introduce you to designers you've never heard of. We can help you discover pieces that feel like they were made just for you: even though they were made thousands of miles away.
That's the magic of this work. A designer in Medellin creates something beautiful. We find it, fall in love with it, and bring it to our shop. You discover it, try it on, and suddenly it's part of your story. That connection: across continents, across cultures, across experiences: is what makes fashion meaningful.
What This Means for You
So what does all of this add up to?
It means that when you shop at Love Launch, you're getting something curated with intention. Every piece in our collection was chosen because we genuinely believe it has something special to offer. We've done the searching and the legwork so you don't have to.
It means you can trust that we're being honest about where things come from and how they're made. Check out our sourcing page anytime: we've got nothing to hide.
And it means you're part of something bigger than a transaction. You're part of a community that values creativity, supports independent makers, and believes that style is a form of self-expression worth investing in.
