Zafy Chunky Crimson Ring
The Zafy Chunky Crimson Ring features a bold, square-shaped face with a smooth, glossy finish. The surface displays a bold red tone accented by ivory and dark brown marbling. Its minimalist shape contrasts beautifully with the striking, earthy patterning—giving it an artisanal, nature-inspired feel.
Zafy began during the soul searching days of the pandemic and named for the love of Yesenia, the designer’s, dog. Zafy inspires tenderness and elegance—just what she felt she inspired to share with the world—and thus the brand was born.
Known as “vegetable ivory,” Tagua is a renewable seed harvested sustainably from South American palm trees — primarily the Phytelephas macrocarpa and Phytelephas aequatorialis — no trees are cut, no animals are harmed. Its smooth, lustrous texture rivals real ivory, offering a beautiful, elephant-friendly alternative. Each bead is hand-carved and dyed by fair-trade artisans, supporting rainforest communities and protecting wildlife.
Each ring is one-of-a-kind, handcrafted from tagua nuts. The piece you receive will have its own unique color variations and patterns—no two are ever exactly alike.

Tagua Spiritual Significance
agua — often called “vegetable ivory”— is a balance of beauty, durability, and intention. Harvested from the seed of a tropical palm in South America, tagua naturally hardens into a smooth, luminous material that closely resembles ivory without harming a single animal. Each piece begins in the rainforest, where the nuts are gathered from the forest floor, supporting conservation efforts and providing meaningful income to artisan communities.
In Colombia, tagua carries a deeper cultural and spiritual resonance. Long regarded by Indigenous communities as a nurturing life source, the tagua palm is often associated with feminine energy, harmony, and protection. The transformation of the nut—from a soft, living form into a strong, stone-like material—is seen as a reflection of personal growth and resilience. Many wear tagua as a quiet talisman, symbolizing balance, abundance, and connection—to self, to others, and to the natural world.
To wear tagua is to carry a story. Each ring reflects generations of craftsmanship, where carving and dyeing techniques are passed down and reinterpreted by modern designers like Zafy. It is also a conscious choice—one that supports sustainable practices, honors cultural heritage, and celebrates materials that are as meaningful as they are beautiful.
