Meet Zelda: A Fashionable Soul

There is a certain kind of quiet that settles over a boutique during a St. Louis winter. While we love the cozy layers and the chance to catch our breath after the holiday rush, the truth is, the shorter days and colder winds can feel a little isolating. As a small business, we thrive on the energy of our community, the laughter in the fitting rooms, the "oh my gosh, you have to try this on" moments, and the simple human connection that happens over a rack of beautiful clothes. When the crowds thin out between the busy holidays and the cold winter days, we miss that pulse.

But even in the quietest seasons, seeds are being planted. We’ve been holding onto a beautiful secret since October, and as the tulips start to peek through the dirt in Tower Grove Park, it’s finally time to let that secret bloom.

Love, at its core, is about recognizing a kindred spirit when you see one. It’s about those "me too" moments that bridge the gap between strangers. Today, I want to introduce you to someone who embodies that spirit perfectly. If you’ve popped in on a quiet Tuesday or a chilly Friday over the last few months, you might have already caught a glimpse of her. But now, it’s time for everyone to meet.

Everyone, meet Zelda.

A Meeting Written in the Stars (and Sequins)

Our story started back in 2017 at a fashion show that was as bold and unapologetic as the woman it honored: the legendary Joan Rivers. If you know anything about Joan, you know she appreciated the "art" in fashion, the drama, the craftsmanship, and the sheer joy of dressing up.

Zelda and I were both there, share great design and soaking in the atmosphere. Looking back, it feels like kismet. We were two people who spoke the same language, the language of texture, silhouette, and the way a perfectly draped piece of artistic style clothing can change the way a woman carries herself.

We didn't become best friends overnight, but the universe kept nudging us together. A few years later, we literally bumped into each other while having dinner in Clayton. You know those "small world" moments? This was a one. As we talked at Oceano we realized we didn't just share a love for fashion; we shared a whole host of connections. We had mutual friends, we realized we shared a hometown high school, and above all else, we realized we both viewed clothing as more than just fabric, we saw it as a form of soul-expression.

From High-End Aisles to Boutique Heart

One of the things I admire most about Zelda is her incredible background. She isn't just someone who likes clothes; she is a seasoned professional who has navigated the very best of the St. Louis fashion scene. With years of experience at iconic institutions like Saks Fifth Avenue and Mister Guy, she understands the nuances of high-end service.

But here is the thing about Zelda: she took all that "big brand" expertise and kept her heart soft. Sometimes the world of high fashion can feel a bit cold or exclusive, but Zelda is the exact opposite. She is a warm, friendly, and genuinely "good soul." She’s the person who remembers your name, asks about your kids, and actually gets excited to help anyone looking for a new outfit.

She understands that art inspired clothes shouldn't be intimidating. They should be accessible. Whether you are looking for something avant-garde from our latest collections or just an easy, everyday piece that makes you feel like "you," Zelda has the eye to find it.

The Magic of the Right Fit

We’ve all been there, standing in a fitting room, feeling frustrated because a piece of clothing "doesn't look like it did on the mannequin." Zelda’s superpower is looking past the hanger and seeing the person.

She has a remarkable talent for finding the right style for every body type. She knows how to play with proportions, how to use a scarf to transform a silhouette, and how to pick the right weight of fabric for the occasion. Whether you’re dressing for a high-stakes gallery opening or a casual brunch at the park, she approaches styling with a sense of "easy style."

Her philosophy aligns so much with ours at Love Launch. We believe that fashion is one small part of a larger life well-lived. It shouldn't be a chore; it should be an act of self-love. Zelda makes that process feel like a conversation between friends. She has been quietly learning the "Love Launch ropes" since October, and seeing her interact with our community has been a joy. She truly has a "great eye," but more importantly, she has a great heart.

You Asked, We Listened: See Us on Sunday!

I know many of you have been asking for Sunday hours. Life is busy, and sometimes Sunday is the only day you have to wander, explore, and treat yourself to something special. I’ve wanted to deliver those Sunday hours for a while, but I needed the right person to hold the space.

I am so excited to announce that Zelda will be open for Sunday hours as the Finale of Spring Style Week!

She is the "Sunday Soul" we’ve been waiting for. She brings a cheerful, creative energy to the shop that is perfect for a weekend wind-down or a pre-week reset.

This coming Sunday also marks the return of the Tower Grove Farmer’s Market to The Boulevard for a very special finale of our Spring Style Week!

A Note of Gratitude

We are so grateful to Zelda for joining our family. It takes a special person to step into a small business and treat it with the same love and care as the founder, and she has done exactly that.

If you've been looking for an excuse to refresh your wardrobe or if you just need a dose of warm, friendly energy, please come see us this week. Check out our event list for more details on what's happening during Spring Style Week.

Let’s welcome the spring together. Let’s celebrate the connections that start at fashion shows and grow over dinner in Clayton. And let’s give a huge Love Launch welcome to Zelda.

We can’t wait to see you this Sunday!

With so much love,

Lia & the Love Launch Team 🌸✨
